The T-Birds defeated the Portland Winterhawks 5-4 in a shootout Saturday night at accesso ShoWare Center. Payton Mount had a goal and two assists and scored in the shootout. Conner Bruggen-Cate also had a goal and two assists. Alex Morozoff and Keltie Jeri-Leon had goals in the win. Reid Schaefer had his first assist in the WHL and defenseman Kevin Korchinski made his T-Birds debut in the game. Roddy Ross had 47 saves. Johnny Ludvig, James Stefan, Jaydon Dureau and Gabe Klassen had goals for Portland. Isaiah DiLaura had 24 saves.
