Photographer’s Favorites: Action – Part 1

Seattle Thunderbirds team photographer Brian Liesse has compiled this gallery of action photos he took during the 2019-20 season.

Brian takes hundreds of photos each game from locations around accesso ShoWare Center. If you look closely during games you can see him between the benches, in the corners teams enter the ice from, up in the catwalks, or behind the seats at both ends of the rink.

Brian has gone through all the photos he took and has so many good shots he is going to create a second gallery of action shots. The Part 1 gallery features photos from preseason games through mid January.

Part 2, which will feature photos from mid January to the end of the 2019-20 season, will be published on our website on Wednesday, April 1.

Brian will also be publishing a Part 1 and Part 2 of black and white photos he took during the season. We anticipate those galleries being publishing on Wednesday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 15.

On December 12 we started the Meet The Thunderbirds Family series. Every Thursday during this past season, and now into the off-season, we are publishing a portrait and Q&A from a member of the T-Birds family. This series, created by Brian, introduces fans to those connected to the team whose contributions might not be readily visible. We have enjoyed this series because we are highlighting and celebrating those that make T-Bird hockey possible through their hard work and dedication.
