Bow Named Vaughn CHL Goaltender Of The Week

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Landon Bow of the Seattle Thunderbirds is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 13 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record including a shutout victory with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .962.

Bow made 50 saves in two games helping the WHL’s U.S Division leading Thunderbirds extend their winning-streak to 10 games.  He earned first star honours with his league-best seventh shutout of the season Friday night stopping all 21 shots faced to edge the Everett Silvertips 1-0, then made 29 saves on Saturday in a 3-2 triumph over the Portland Winterhawks.

A 20-year-old from St. Albert, AB, Bow is playing in his fourth career WHL season and first with the Thunderbirds after being acquired midseason from the Swift Current Broncos.  So far in Seattle he’s posted impressive figures with a 14-6-0-0 record, five shutouts, a goals-against-average of 1.75, and save percentage of .939.  Overall this season his goals-against-average of 2.52 ranks third among WHL netminders while his .922 goals-against-average is best.

Also considered for the award this week was Connor Hicks of the Hamilton Bulldogs with a 2-0-0-0 record posting a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .964, and rookie Anthony Dumont-Bouchard of the Drummondville Voltigeurs with a 1-1-0-0 record posting a goals-against-average of 1.51 and save percentage of .948.
