Team photographer Brian Liesse is introducing T-Birds fans to those connected to the team whose contributions might not be readily visible. We are excited about this project because we get to highlight those that make T-Bird hockey possible through their hard work and dedication to the team and the sport of hockey. We look forward to introducing you to T-Birds staff, accesso ShoWare Center staff, Booster Club members, Game Night Staff, Media, and others who help us celebrate and promote the team and the sport in the Pacific Northwest. Each person highlighted has answered a questionnaire about what they do with the team or how they are connected to the team, and some personal highlights. Brian took the photos of each person in their T-Bird environment.
What do you do for/with the Thunderbirds?
I am the Director of Marketing and Game Presentation. I also handle graphics and oversee the video department.
How long have you been working for/with the Thunderbirds?
This is my seventh season with the T-Birds. I originally started as a member of the game night promotions team.
What is your favorite aspect of what it is you do for/with the Thunderbirds?
Game nights for sure! I love the energy from the crowd and being able to be a part of the team that helps facilitate that. And the staff comradery! You work so closely with everyone that they eventually become family.
What is the most challenging aspect of what you do for/with the Thunderbirds?
I think the most challenging part would be constantly coming up with new/fun ideas for fans to engage with.
What is your favorite Thunderbirds memory?
Championship year! It was such a fun season and the post season lived up to, and surpassed, any expectations. It was a roller coaster of emotions!
Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
People make fun of me, but I always have to have a specific parking spot in the parking lot…other than that, not really! Just always try to keep it light and fun.
Are you excited for an NHL team to come to Seattle?
Yes! I think it will be so good for the city and the people here deserve to have an NHL team.
What do you enjoy doing when not working for/with the Thunderbirds?
I love working out, doing yoga, hanging out with friends, cleaning 😊….
What position do you/would you play if you were to play hockey?
I think I would be an excellent bench warmer!
Who are the Thunderbirds biggest rivals?
I would say Portland and Everett. Portland is the deep-rooted rival though!
