Simon Kubicek and Tyrel Bauer Named To NHL Central Scouting Updated Players To Watch List

Kubicek and Bauer each receive ‘C’ rating from NHL Central Scouting

KENT, November 14, 2019 — Seattle Thunderbirds defensemen Simon Kubicek and Tyrel Bauer have been listed by NHL Central Scouting in their updated Players To Watch List for the 2020 NHL Draft released today.

The 2020 NHL Draft takes place June 26 and June 27 in Montreal, Quebec.

Kubicek received a ‘C’ rating from NHL Central Scouting which indicates he is a fourth, fifth or sixth round candidate for the 2020 NHL Draft.

Kubicek, born December 19, 2001, is in his second season with the T-Birds and has two goal and seven assists in 17 games. Last season he had nine goals and 19 assists for 29 points with 57 penalty minutes in 61 games. Kubicek was selected by the T-Birds in the second round, 89th overall, in the 2018 CHL Import Draft.

Bauer received a ‘C’ rating from NHL Central Scouting which indicates he is a fourth, fifth or sixth round candidate for the 2020 NHL Draft.

Bauer, born March 23, 2002, is in his second season with the T-Birds and has played 14 games and has one goal and two assists for three points. Last season he played in 64 games and had two goals and 12 assists for 14 points with 91 penalty minutes. Bauer was selected by the T-Birds in the second round, 41st overall, in the 2017 Bantam Draft.

Kubicek and Bauer are two of 52 players in the WHL listed by NHL Central Scouting on the Players To Watch List.

NHL Central Scouting Players To Watch List

The Players To Watch List is Central Scouting’s compilation of top prospects from all the major development leagues throughout North America and Europe. The list is updated throughout the season while scouts travel to evaluate the players live.

The T-Birds next game is Saturday, November 16, against the Portland Winterhawks at accesso ShoWare Center at 6:05pm. This game will be broadcast in Seattle on JOEtv Channel 22/Cable 110. Single game tickets are on sale online on the T-Birds website and at the accesso ShoWare Center box office.

The T-Birds are now taking orders for Flex-24 Ticket packages. Fans that purchase the 24-Flex Ticket Package will be able to select any available premium seat for any game, in any ticket combination, during the 2019-20 season.
