Simon Kubicek and Tyrel Bauer Named To NHL Central Scouting Players To Watch List

Kubicek receives ‘B’ rating, Bauer receives ‘C’ rating from NHL Central Scouting

KENT, October 7, 2019 — Seattle Thunderbirds defensemen Simon Kubicek and Tyrel Bauer have been listed by NHL Central Scouting in the preliminary Players To Watch List for the 2020 NHL Draft.

The 2020 NHL Draft takes place June 26 and June 27 in Montreal, Quebec.

Kubicek received a ‘B’ rating from NHL Central Scouting which indicates he is a second or third round candidate for the 2020 NHL Draft.

Kubicek, born December 19, 2001, is in his second season with the T-Birds and has five assists in five games. Last season he had nine goals and 19 assists for 29 points with 57 penalty minutes in 61 games. Kubicek was selected by the T-Birds in the second round, 89th overall, in the 2018 CHL Import Draft.

Bauer received a ‘C’ rating from NHL Central Scouting which indicates he is a fourth through sixth round candidate for the 2020 NHL Draft.

Bauer, born March 23, 2002, is in his second season with the T-Birds and has played three games. Last season he played in 64 games and had two goals and 12 assists for 14 points with 91 penalty minutes. Bauer was selected by the T-Birds in the second round, 41st overall, in the 2017 Bantam Draft.

Kubicek and Bauer are two of 44 players in the WHL and 111 players in the CHL listed by NHL Central Scouting on the Players To Watch List.

The Players To Watch List is Central Scouting’s compilation of top prospects from all the major development leagues throughout North America and Europe. The list is updated throughout the season while scouts travel to evaluate the players live.

The T-Birds next game is Friday, October 11, against the Kelowna Rockets at 7:35pm at accesso ShoWare Center. This game is the first Dave and Buster’s Pub Night of the season. Fans can get 10 tickets, 10 beers, and 10 hats for $220 for this game. Dave and Buster’s Pub Night packages can be purchased online.

Single game tickets are on sale online on the T-Birds website and at the accesso ShoWare Center box office.

The T-Birds are now taking orders for Flex-24 Ticket packages. Fans that purchase the 24-Flex Ticket Package will be able to select any available premium seat for any game, in any ticket combination, during the 2019-20 season.
