Forward was selected in second round of 2022 WHL Prospects Draft

KENT, June 11, 2022 — The Seattle Thunderbirds have announced forward Kazden Mathies has signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement with the team.

Mathies, from Martensville, Saskatchewan, was selected by the T-Birds in the second round, 37th overall, in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

“Kazden was the captain of his team,” said Director of Player Personnel, Cal Filson. “He plays an explosive offensive game, creating a ton of chances for himself and his teammates.” By signing a WHL Standard Player Agreement, Mathies is guaranteed a WHL Scholarship for every year he plays in the WHL.
