Former T-Birds Equipment Manager Jason Berger Wins Back-to-Back Stanley Cups

Kent, July 7, 2021 – Former Seattle Thunderbirds Equipment Manager Jason Berger won the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight in Tampa. Berger is an Assistant Equipment Manager with the Lighting. The Lightning defeated the Montreal Canadiens 1-0 tonight to win the Stanley Cup best-of-seven series 4-1.

Berger was a member of the Lightning last season when they defeated the Dallas Stars 4-2 in the Edmonton bubble to win the Stanley Cup.

Berger was the T-Birds Equipment Manager for four seasons, from the 2007-08 season to the 2010-11 season. Berger was behind the T-Birds bench for 288 regular season games and 17 playoff games.

After leaving the T-Birds, Berger was the Head Equipment Manager for the Florida Everblades in the ECHL where he won a Kelly Cup in 2012. He then joined the Providence Bruins of the AHL and was their Head Equipment Manager for five seasons. Berger joined the Lightning for the 2017-18 season and is in his fourth season with the team.
